Former SES Deputy Director to give evidence opposing Warragamba Dam at Parliamentary Inquiry

Former SES Deputy Director and flood specialist, Dr Chas keys, will give evidence to a NSW Parliamentary Inquiry at 2pm tomorrow (November 25) against the rising of Warragamba Dam wall held at the Windsor Community Centre.

Dr Keys will be addressing:
  • Links between floodplain development and the Warragamba Dam project
  • NSW Government plans to double the floodplain population (by 134,000 people)  
  • Lessons from the 2011 Brisbane floods
  • The need for improved flood evacuation routes in western Sydney

One Nation (Rob Roberts MLC) and Justin Field MLC chair the Parliamentary Committee examining the dam proposal. Both are opposed to the dam wall raising.
